Thanks to its development technology platform (Magic), PharmaLog is suitable for use with most popular database managers. The system does not contain a built-in database manager. It reaches them through so-called gateways. Next to the proprietary transaction management system of the database managers, a locking system independent of the database manager can also be used, which enables the application to connect to multiple database managers at the same time and to use them simultaneously.
